Grieving Fans of Broken Bands: Understanding Parasocial Relations in Interim Fandoms:
I am interested in exploring the grief experienced by fans/fandoms when a band member leaves their group. This research project will sit squarely within fandom and audience studies. However, it fills a gap within the field by placing particular note on the parasocial relationship fans have with celebrities who broke up their bands, as well as the repeating points of mourning between the initial departure and the eventual break-up.
